UPDATE! The FOE certification for Elements of Basic Awareness has entered into the beta testing process and is slated for release during the first quarter of 2008. As beta testing is completed, the certification exam will be available nationally and internationally by NCATT's testing partner, Lasergrade testing centers. END UPDATE
Aviation industry professionals have long
decried the lack of a standard, readily
available course of instruction in FOD
prevention for personnel who work in
FOD-sensitive areas.
To help fill that void, the National Center for
Aircraft Technician Training (NCATT) has
developed a formal set of written
instructional materials in FOD / FOE
Awareness. Over the coming months, NCATT also
expects to begin offering an examination and
certification in FOD / FOE Awareness.
Currently distributed to Airframe &
Powerplant schools nationwide, these
instructional materials are also available to
aviation industry professionals, trainers and
the general public as free, downloadable PDF
files:
